About Us
Housing Trust Silicon Valley is a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that provides financing to support affordable housing development and homeownership. The organization works with public and private partners to expand access to capital and strengthen the affordable housing market across the greater Bay Area.
Founded in 2000, Housing Trust was established by affordable housing advocates, business leaders, public agencies, and foundations. It is one of the largest housing trusts in the nation and the first nonprofit CDFI to receive a Standard & Poor’s AA- rating.
Housing Trust makes loans across 14 counties in the greater Bay Area, including Sacramento. Its financing supports a range of housing needs, from developments serving people experiencing homelessness to rental housing and first-time homebuyer programs.
