Analyst (Capital Markets)

Role Summary
The Capital Markets Analyst will support the Capital Markets team and report directly to the Vice President of Capital Markets. This role serves as a key liaison between the firm and its investor partners, supporting investor relations efforts through the preparation of accurate, timely, and professional due diligence materials during both pre-closing and post-closing phases. The Analyst will be responsible for completing financial analyses, investor reporting, and ad hoc requests at the direction of the Vice President, coordinating the collection, validation, and communication of information across internal departments including Risk Management/Underwriting, Asset Management, Development, and Finance.
What You'll Do
Relationship Management
- Cultivate, foster, and maintain longstanding relationships with Investor Partners and work collaboratively to achieve common goals
- Manage assigned investor relationships and represent assigned investor perspectives and priorities within OCCH
- Develop deep knowledge of investors' goals, strategies, underwriting guidelines, and bank investors' Community Reinvestment Act investment objectives
- Coordinate with Managers on identification of product for specific investors and track investor-specific proprietary deal pipelines
- Organize and assist in leading regular (weekly or monthly) investor conference calls with Managers and originations staff, focusing on new business opportunities and project pipeline updates
- Identify opportunities for OCFC to deploy its products in support of OCCH's mission
- Assist in preparing presentations and due diligence packages, participate in meetings, conferences and calls, and coordinate events for partners including conferences, speaking engagements and additional projects
Pre-Closing Duties
- Present approved project summaries and preview deals to obtain preliminary investor approval
- Assist in meeting investor due diligence requests, including any required third-party reviews and other elements required to deliver and close new proprietary investments
- Support multi-fund activities including fulfilling due diligence requests and completing investor spreadsheets
- Ensure final documentation correctly reflects deal facts, OCCH's analysis, and conditions for approvals
- Coordinate with Legal to maintain documentation for proprietary investment closings
Post-Closing Duties
- Track investor approvals and requests for changes
- Assist in processing consents and requests for modifications or waivers for projects in proprietary funds
- Update database for closed deals and Funds
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports from Fund Management to Investors
Industry Consultation
- Develop knowledge of real estate market dynamics, competition, policy development and LIHTC industry trends
- Represent OCCH by attending industry events
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning, or related field
- Strong problem-solving skills using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to convey messages clearly to a variety of audiences
- Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, composure, flexibility and ability to adapt to various situations
- Strong client focus, business development, and relationship management skills
- Negotiation skills with ability to articulate goals and achieve win-win solutions
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects successfully and deliver outputs within timeframes
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to perform tasks and achieve results independently and collaboratively as part of a team while consistently meeting deadlines
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to work productively and accurately in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and stringent deadlines
- Ability to work well in groups and take ownership of tasks
- Willingness to travel when necessary and ability to work evening and weekend hours during peak periods
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of direct experience in affordable multifamily housing
- Prior experience with low-income housing tax credit projects
- Open to change with ability to analyze both successes and failures for clues to improvement
- Collaborative and flexible style with strong service focus
- High degree of intellectual curiosity
