Role Summary
The CSB Credit Specialist II is responsible for ensuring quality and compliance within an assigned portfolio, supporting new business development while applying credit risk policy and adhering to TDBG risk appetite. This role performs credit underwriting and credit administration functions, working closely with the Relationship Manager and Credit Officer to ensure consistency with TD Bank Groups Risk Appetite Principles, including establishing the Borrower Risk Ratings and Facility Risk Ratings for new and existing credit relationships.
What You'll Do
- Perform in-depth credit analysis for highly diverse portfolios at the highest complexity, including large pieces of bigger client portfolios that may include other institutions
- Conduct in-depth credit analysis in partnership with Relationship Manager on potential and existing customers to determine alignment with TD Bank products, structure, Credit Risk Appetite and credit policies/underwriting guidelines
- Partner with the Relationship Manager on potential structure proposals aligned with TD Bank products, TD Credit Risk Appetite and credit policies/underwriting guidelines
- Attend site visits and prospect/customer calls as needed or requested
- Prepare credit applications for new and existing borrowers with support from the Credit Analyst, including new transactions, extensions, modifications, renewals and Annual Reviews
- Ensure applications provide high quality risk assessment, credit structure, due diligence, and credit presentation while adhering to AIRB methodology and addressing TD Banks profitability objectives
- Manage timely approval, documentation preparation, negotiation, and closing of new and existing transactions
- Operate within applicable regulatory and compliance guidelines/policies and procedures, including AML, Privacy, Firewalls, Systems & Information Security, and FCAC
- Ensure the managed portfolio is comprehensively monitored and controlled, adhering to approved guidelines and established operating policies and procedures
- Interpret and apply TD's risk management strategy for both credit and operational matters
- Stay knowledgeable of changing market conditions and relevant industry issues
- Manage aspects of the customer relationship, including reviewing reports and delinquencies, signing off on covenant compliance forms, determining strategy for failures, completing monthly monitoring, and overseeing Credit Analysts
Required Qualifications
- 4-year undergraduate degree
- 7+ years' experience in related field
- Excellent credit underwriting and administration skills; considered subject matter expert in complex credit understanding
- Superior ability to identify and mitigate risk
- Ability to provide value-add structuring alternatives for highly complex credits
- Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills with solid business acumen

Compensation
$120,000–$198,000 USD. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. The base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
