Role Summary
This role is based in-office and works independently with little or no oversight. The Underwriter IV exercises exception and elevated approval authority, preparing offerings for all types of transactions at any level of complexity or in management of a portfolio as assigned. The position serves as a subject matter expert for certain asset classes and functions as a coach, work lead and trainer for the group.
What You'll Do
- Work independently using independent judgment to identify risks and mitigants, preparing offerings and/or scorecards by analyzing credit, collateral strength and financial worthiness of loan/transaction parties
- Perform ongoing credit risk management for assigned portfolio as relevant
- Coach and/or review the work of other underwriters and fill in for manager as required
- Contact internal/external customers and other parties to gather information and clarify inconsistent, incorrect or missing information
- Perform relevant pre-approval and post-approval activities
- Identify and/or confirm all external regulatory requirements and ensure internal policies/procedures are followed
- Make recommendations on credit decisions or make credit decisions directly as appropriate
- Demonstrate knowledge of IRS Code Section 42 and 47, equity structures and documentation, market research including onsite inspections and market comp analysis, and 3rd party or external guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
- Knowledge of underwriting, credit analysis and verification, and decision making and critical thinking
- Competencies in accuracy and attention to detail, managing multiple priorities, market research, real estate development, real estate practice, real estate property data analysis, real estate sales closings and agreements, and regulatory environment in financial services

Compensation
$65,000–$179,400. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
