Senior Vice President, Development

Role Summary
The Senior Vice President, Development is responsible for leading and driving development work for all Cinnaire's three priority city markets and other areas of focus. The SVPD works closely with the President of Cinnaire Solutions and other Cinnaire Business Leaders on all matters related to the organization's real estate development work and manages and coordinates the implementation of development projects. A primary role of the SVPD is to grow talent of the diverse and skilled team throughout its multistate geography.
What You'll Do
- Maintain track record of successful project completion on or ahead of schedule, on budget, with maximum financial return, highest quality, and greatest community impact, including effective communication and management of third-party teams
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and strategic thinking to overcome obstacles and secure appropriate resources
- Work with President and CSC Board to set strategic direction
- Conduct excellent analysis and problem-solving with superior accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Negotiate and collaborate with external partners using strong negotiation and collaboration skills
- Lead, inspire, and support highly effective teams of professionals
- Build excellent relationships and maintain customer service orientation that leads to sustainable and mutually beneficial external partnerships
- Support and lead Cinnaire's 5-year strategic plan, balancing growth, profit, and mission with focus on impact and sustainability
- Support, train, and grow talent on the team including development managers, development associates, asset manager, and design development specialist
- Serve as point on soliciting and maintaining debt and equity relationships, including capital sourcing for the development pipeline
- Oversee timely and efficient progress on projects and work closely with development partners toward successful and profitable completion
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to teams of highly skilled consultants, architects, general contractors, attorneys, accountants, and other consultants
- Support project packages for investors, lenders, and public financing, including project grants
- Lead or pilot new development opportunities, particularly in Wisconsin
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience developing real estate with successful completion of a minimum of six representative developments demonstrating competencies in sourcing, shaping, funding, constructing, and stabilizing real estate transactions
- Experience developing feasibility analyses, creating and managing pro formas, monitoring project budgets and timelines
- Knowledge of real estate development best practices related to multi- and single-family affordable housing development and innovative neighborhood planning and community revitalization strategies
- Experience in multifamily development
- Indirect management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Four years' experience in real estate analysis
- Commercial real estate development experience
- Direct management experience
- Experience with and working understanding of various CDFI and industry tools including grants, LIHTCs, NMTCs, CDBG, HOME, FHLB-AHP, historic credits, and energy credits
- Experience with ESRI, GIS, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Bachelor or Master degree in real estate, legal, paralegal, business, or similar field
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
The ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. The ability to travel. Travel required: 20–30%.
