What You’ll Do
- Gather, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data to provide critical insights on trends and variances and identify opportunities to improve performance.
- Complete deep-dive property assessment reports for at-risk assets not meeting budget and/or operational expectations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports for executive leadership and Blackstone, presenting financial data and analysis clearly and concisely.
- Execute April Housing’s annual budgeting and forecasting process, including coordinating with asset managers, department heads, operators, and other key stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing the quarterly board book, coordinating across departments on a high-profile deliverable presented to Blackstone senior real estate leadership.
- Develop and maintain complex corporate-level financial models to provide multi-year visibility into financial performance.
- Work collaboratively across departments and with external partners to support business objectives.
- Partner with IT and other stakeholders to automate manual reporting, support software implementation, and create interactive business intelligence tools and dashboards.
- Utilize third-party data to monitor and analyze market and industry trends, including sources such as Yardi Matrix, Green Street, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Perform special ad hoc projects on a frequent basis.
- Support the development of analysts through mentorship and training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting.
- Minimum of three (3) to six (6) years of experience in FP&A and/or financial reporting within a commercial real estate firm.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and demanding work environment and meet critical deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail, including the ability to review team members’ work for accuracy and consistency.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including database sourcing, standard Excel functions (such as SUMIF/S, SUMPRODUCT, INDEX/MATCH, INDIRECT, pivot tables, data tables, filters, and keyboard shortcuts), graph creation, data integrity best practices, and executive- or board-level presentation outputs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, listen actively, and confirm understanding when needed.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with intact and cross-functional teams and give and receive feedback.
- Strong results orientation, with the ability to understand performance targets, align work to deliver results, and pivot when feedback is received.
- Ability to plan and align work, understand communicated plans, seek clarity when needed, and support alignment on daily and weekly actions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Yardi and/or data analytics tools.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Compensation Range: $100,000.00 to $130,000.00 annually. This range represents the presently anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation may vary based on factors including location and experience.
- Total Direct Compensation: Eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
- Benefits: Health insurance coverage, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
