Role Summary
The Affordable Housing Asset Manager is responsible for management and monitoring of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans and equity investments to ensure benefit delivery to investors while maintaining superior customer service for external clients. This role has multiple levels, open to candidates with at least 5 years minimum experience. The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience.
What You'll Do
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of commercial real estate loans and equity investments
- Maintain and expand relationships with partners, borrowers, and other external parties associated with assigned portfolio
- Perform reviews of audits and financial statements to assess investment quality and risk
- Review construction draw packages and assess construction investment and lending risk
- Monitor portfolio performance and assign risk ratings in accordance with policy
- Complete site inspections and meetings with partners to ensure program compliance and asset/loan quality
- Review and interpret operating agreements, loan agreements and other legal documents relating to equity investments and loans to protect the division's rights and financial interests
- Prepare internal written and verbal reporting on portfolio performance
- Ensure assigned investment projects adhere to U.S. Bancorp policies and procedures and conform to regulatory requirements
- Keep current on various tax credit policies, banking laws and regulations, economic and industry trends, and banking products and services related to asset management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of tax credit investment management with experience interpreting legal documentation and requirements
- General real estate background
- Significant knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit)
- Some knowledge of RETC (Renewable Energy Tax Credit)
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Good relationship management abilities
- Highly motivated, able to work independently, and possesses acute attention to detail
Compensation
$98,175–$115,500 (salary range reflects the primary location; actual range may differ based on role location)
