Role Summary
The Real Estate Investment Analyst will focus on modeling and underwriting multifamily real estate transactions that generate investment tax credits. This position assists in pricing transactions, preparing financial models, analyzing risk, and bidding transactions, as well as supporting the closing of primarily multifamily investments.
What You'll Do
- Perform financial modeling, structuring, and underwriting of multifamily real estate transactions with tax credits
- Conduct initial deal screening with thoughtful review and analysis of proposed investment opportunities
- Prepare and review materials for Issuance meetings, including sensitivities, and support Originators during meetings
- Prepare investment bids based on financial models and pricing guidance
- Structure transactions to RBC standards and proactively identify and mitigate risks with oversight from Director-level staff
- Perform detailed analysis on underwriting elements including Market Analysis, Expense Comparable Analysis, and Modeling Sensitivities
- Support Investment Managers with site analysis and partnership negotiations
- Prepare Investment Summary and materials for Investment Committee, including identification of Investment Highlights and Risks, Market Study Analysis, RBC Underwriting Guidelines documentation, and Financing Terms and Guarantees
- Prepare and present rent and expense underwriting meeting materials and follow up on outstanding questions
- Prepare and submit documentation required for timely and efficient closing and funding
- Review third-party reports and loan documents
- Proactively identify operational risks and control deficiencies in the business
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to business activities
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies, and risks to line manager and relevant risk and control functions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate
- Strong interest in real estate investment and/or affordable housing
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS-Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in financial modeling or real estate finance
