Affordable Housing Analyst
Role Summary
The Affordable Housing Analyst works with the Affordable Housing Board to study housing market conditions, propose affordable housing programs, evaluate the financial design of proposed affordable housing projects, and coordinate with government and partner agencies to monitor and evaluate affordable housing in Lexington.
What You'll Do
- Apply deep knowledge of single-family and multi-family developments and affordable housing finance, including loans, grants, tax credits, bonds and mortgage structures
- Review and analyze applications from housing developers, including complex financial and development data
- Make independent, high-impact decisions that affect multi-million-dollar funding
- Decide whether projects are financially sound, using detailed math and underwriting methods
- Recommend projects to receive funding and present recommendations to the Affordable Housing Board of Directors
- Work with the Law Department to finalize contracts and complete financing process
- Ensure compliance with all Affordable Housing Fund requirements
- Prepare activity reports and presentations for the Board of Directors, city officials and the public
- Perform affordable housing research and studies including strategic planning and assessing housing needs in Lexington
- Supervise the Affordable Housing Specialist position
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or a field related to the job
- Six (6) years of related experience with housing developments and financing
