Role Summary
The Director, Fund Management provides leadership and strategic oversight of Fund Management. The role is responsible for managing the daily operations of fund management, overseeing fund governance, financial oversight, capital management, financial modeling, investor reporting, business partnership with Accounting division to ensure the integrity of financial information used for direction-making and investor communications. The director promotes an inclusive and collaborative team culture across departments, drives continuous operational improvement, leverages technology and innovation, and ensures CAHEC's investment funds continue to meet the expectations of institutional investors and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Fund Administration Division, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives, directly manage divisional staff, foster a collaborative team culture, and promote staff development opportunities
- Collaborate with Accounting division to ensure the accurate and timely recording of all fund-related financial activities, partner with Accounting leadership on external audits and tax return administration, and ensure consistent application of internal controls and best practices
- Manage the overall process for creating new investment funds, oversee the governance and corporate administration of existing funds, and lead the dissolution process of closing funds
- Collaborate with Director, Fund Development, to manage the overall process of development and on-going maintenance of financial models required to create new equity funds, evaluate investment placement impact in single and multi-investor equity funds, and provide investors with accurate benefit schedules and other requested reports while ensuring data integrity
- Oversee the quarterly investor reporting process while ensuring staff and processes align with the highest standards of internal controls and quality assurance to ensure timely and accurate investor reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business, finance, or accounting
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in fund management, investor relations, or similar financial oversight roles, with an advanced understanding of financial modeling, fund accounting, and investor reporting related to managing real estate investment funds
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience relevant to the management functions of leading a high performing team, coaching direct reports, strategic planning and goal setting, and budgeting
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel and ability to perform complex modeling and forecasting
- Advanced understanding of GAAP accounting and tax matters
- Ability to manage and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and meet expectations and timelines
- Ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards and data integrity
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
This position is based out of CAHEC's corporate office in Raleigh, NC. The position works in a normal business office with a climate-controlled environment. Some objectives, industry related events, and training opportunities may require travel by commercial airline or automobile. CAHEC's current hybrid work benefit offers eligible positions the opportunity to work both in the Raleigh office and off-site after a period of orientation and training.
