Role Summary
Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Finance Associate. This important role supports the Capital Markets team in securing funding for rental housing loan programs through tax-exempt and taxable bond issuances, financial analysis, disclosure reporting, and compliance activities related to bond financing.
What You'll Do
- Support bond financing transactions and prepare offering and rating agency materials
- Collaborate with underwriting and legal teams to prepare loans for financing
- Participate in interdivisional loan meetings
- Conduct financial analysis including yield runs, cash flow analysis, loan pricing, and data reporting using systems such as Prolink and DBC Housing
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant degree and/or applicable work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business, finance, lending, or other relevant areas
- Experience analyzing complex commercial transactions, evaluating financial instruments, managing legal and transactional risks, and participating in agreement negotiations
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment, prioritize effectively, and perform well under pressure
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, and accountability, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks, decisions, and outcomes
- The ability to identify key financial, legal, and operational risks and effectively summarize issues and options for executive-level decision-making
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Private Activity Housing Bonds
- Proficiency with DBC Housing software
- Experience engaging with investors and the broker/dealer community
- Prior experience working with rating agencies
- Experience with municipal housing bond issuance
- Demonstrated experience structuring, underwriting, and executing multifamily securitizations, including coordination with rating agencies, investors, and internal credit teams
- Strong understanding of tax-exempt bond compliance requirements
Compensation
$109K–$147,500
