About the Employer
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) offers affordable housing opportunities for Ohioans from rental assistance to homeownership. OHFA provides access to financial resources for the development and management of affordable housing. The Agency's programs serve first-time homebuyers, renters, senior citizens and other populations with special needs who otherwise might not be able to afford quality housing.
The Office of Program Compliance & Asset Management is responsible for monitoring more than 1,600 rental properties throughout Ohio, ensuring properties are being maintained in a satisfactory or above manner and are in compliance with the Internal Revenue Service, HUD, USDA Rural Housing, federal HOME Partnership funds, Ohio Housing Trust Funds, ARRA, TCE and state regulations. The Office conducts training for owners and managers of rental projects regarding both basic and advanced issues they face.
Role Summary
The Asset Manager will assist with the financial oversight of the multifamily rental housing portfolio, analyzing property financials and operating metrics while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position will work from OHFA's offices located at 2600 Corporate Exchange Drive, Columbus, OH 43231.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the financial oversight of the multifamily rental housing portfolio
- Analyze property financials and operating metrics
- Assist with management of ownership structure and financial changes requested by property owners
- Work with partners to develop work out plans for troubled properties
- Represent OHFA at meetings, conferences, seminars, and in-person events
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in real estate, business management, accounting, finance or related field
- 18 months of experience with multifamily real estate, finance, and/or asset management, OR 18 months of experience with budgeting, OR 18 months of experience managing a portfolio of real estate with familiarity with private financing and federal, state, and local government funding
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines
- Strong business writing skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to read, interpret, and analyze financial statements
- Sound understanding of multifamily real estate terminology and concepts
- Strong computer skills with excellent MS Excel skills
- Technical and professional skills in accounting and finance, auditing, housing, interpreting financial statements, analyzation, written communication, collaboration, teamwork, and time management
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of LIHTC
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
May require occasional travel to attend conferences and trainings and/or visit properties subject to Asset Management oversight. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 AM–5 PM.
